Our Story
Notre parcours a commencé par une vision commune : Améliorer l’accès aux soins en renforçant le système de santé. En tant que collectif de professionnels passionnés, nous avons reconnu la nécessité d’une entité indépendante capable de combler les lacunes dans ces domaines, de favoriser la collaboration et de conduire un changement transformateur. C’est ainsi qu’est né Africa Health Access (AHA), dont la mission est d’améliorer les résultats en matière de santé en veillant à ce que les communautés, en particulier les pauvres et les vulnérables, aient accès à des services de santé de qualité à un prix abordable, afin de favoriser le développement de l’Afrique.

Our Mission
La mission d’AHA est claire : améliorer les résultats en matière de santé pour tous les Africains. Nous y parvenons en fournissant une expertise technique indépendante aux ministères de la santé et autres institutions sanitaires. Notre objectif s’étend à tous les niveaux de la pyramide sanitaires, du système de santé communautaire, régional au système national. Mais s’entend également au-delà des limites nationales, pour aborder les problématiques régionales et continentales. Grâce à des initiatives innovantes, nous catalysons l’accès aux soins de santé, en veillant à ce que même les populations les plus vulnérables reçoivent le soutien qu’elles méritent et que la santé devienne le catalyseur du développement de l’Afrique.

How we function
AHA governance structure
This structure ensures the smooth running of AHA and its mission to improve health outcomes in Africa.
Board of Directors
- Responsible for the overall governance of the organization.
- Makes strategic decisions, oversees activities and ensures compliance with objectives.
- Composed of health experts, community representatives and external partners.
- Participates in strategic decisions, planning and overseeing activities.
Executive Board
- Responsible for implementing policies and decisions made by the Board of Directors.
- Makes operational decisions, manages resources and ensures objectives are met.
- Supervises day-to-day operations, coordinates teams and ensures organizational objectives are met.
- Composed of two managing partners: a technical manager and an administrative manager.
Functional teams
- Specialized in specific areas such as project management, supply chain, health information systems, finance and human resources.
- Each team is headed by a manager who reports to the executive management.
- Associates within the functional teams contribute to the implementation of specific activities and are responsible for the day-to-day management of projects, information systems, etc.

Meet the functional team

Dr. Christabelle Matsinkou
Technical manager
A Leader in Public Health, Christabelle Matsinkou is a dedicated health professional with a passion for improving public health outcomes. Her career began at the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, where she served as a medical doctor and project coordinator. In this role, she led the ProFam project, which aimed to provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, cervical cancer diagnostics, and HPV vaccinations. Christabelle also implemented the HIV Free PEPFAR project in the North West region of Cameroon. This initiative aimed to screen, diagnose, and treat the population at both community and hospital levels, demonstrating her commitment to accessible healthcare.
Following her impactful work in Cameroon, Christabelle joined the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Cameroon. Here, she supported the government in revitalizing the HPV vaccine, and COVID-19 vaccine, and launching the malaria vaccine. Her work involved multiple interventions, including a pilot study that was pivotal in informing decision-making processes and aiding the government in adopting new policies and delivery strategies.
Educational Excellence and Multilingual Proficiency Christabelle’s academic credentials include an MSc in Health Economics and Pharmaco-economics from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain) and an MD from Tambov State University (Russia). Her proficiency in French, English, and Russian, coupled with her advanced digital skills in data analysis and visualization tools, further enhance her effectiveness in our global health firm.

Dr. EKOUM MI NTAMACK Joseph
Administrative Manager
In 2001, he joined all the programs implementing public health activities in the NYLON Health District, in particular a project implementing HIV/AIDS prevention through responsible sexuality education for adolescents.
On his return to Cameroon, he opted for a leave of absence from the civil service and joined the NGO Aide aux Lépreux Emmaüs Suisse, which later became FAIRMED, where he was Country Office Director between 2010 and 2012. His public health achievements include:
- Organization of 5 editions of Swiss surgical missions as FAIRMED CAMEROON Country Office Director.
- Participation in 5 international conferences on BURULI ulcer (4 in Geneva, 1 in Cotonou).
- Participation in 2 annual reviews of leprosy activities (BRAZZAVILLE, DAKAR)
- Various international public health missions (CONGO, GABON, CAR, SWITZERLAND, BENIN, SENEGAL.....)
He returned to the civil service in 2012, serving in turn as Head of the Health Information and Planning Department and Head of the Health Care and Activities Control Brigade for the Littoral region;
In 2020, he retires from the Cameroon civil service.
He will be recruited, following a competitive call for applications, as Assistant Manager of the ACVL (Agence de contractualisation et de vérification du Littoral) as part of the implementation of the performance-based financing project for healthcare services in all the health districts of the Littoral Region.
It is this passion and experience for public health that he wishes to share with populations and decision-makers through the Africa Health Access Association (AHA).
